Director of Operations, St Paul

Salary: $31.00-$33.00/hr
Branch Directors are responsible for overseeing multiple consecutive habitat restoration/conservation projects, ensuring that all work is completed according to best management practices, contract guidelines, and workplace policies. Individual(s) in this position are responsible for ensuring successful completion of contracts within given specifications, timeline, and budget. Individual(s) are also responsible for assisting with bidding, and supervising project managers. Branch Directors may assist with a variety of other operational, administrative, outreach/sales, and HR duties as necessary.
The Director of Operations-St Paul will work out of our West Saint Paul office, assisting other operations branch directors, overseeing assigned projects, and providing leadership for NRP’s Twin Cities based field crew.
Restoration project manager

Salary: $24.00/hr
Project Managers manage multiple consecutive habitat restoration/conservation projects, ensuring that all work is completed according to best management practices, contract guidelines, and workplace policies. Individuals(s) must be able to give direction and support multiple consecutive crews of technicians, including up to 3 crew leaders. Additionally, individual(s) must be capable of managing their own time with minimal supervision.
Project Managers are expected to oversee weekly operations of field crews. NRP relies on Project Managers to provide mid-level leadership to maintain smooth daily operations. Project Managers need to be proficient with ecological restoration principles and tools of the trade. Individual(s) also need to be capable of supervising and leading other crew members, training and bringing up junior employees.
Ecological Technician

Job Type: Full-time/Permanent or Full-time/Seasonal
Salary: $19.00/hr
Individual(s) hired will work individually or with a crew conducting habitat restoration tasks such as herbicide application, invasive species removal, brush and tree removal, prescribed fire, stacking and burning brush piles, planting and seeding etc. NRP conducts projects at various size and complexity scales, with variable schedules. Technicians are expected to be flexible and work on a variety of project types as needed. Work can vary seasonally, and may include extended periods of similar duties.
Ecological Technician-FFT2 RX Fire Specialist

Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be determined upon hire; mid-March-April
Job Type: Full time. Seasonal during the spring burn season (March-June), with the strong potential for extension into summer Wildland Fire suppression roles and/or yearly habitat restoration work for successful candidates.
Salary: $20.00/hr
Individual(s) hired will primarily work on a roving prescribed fire crew, conducting controlled burns across the state of Minnesota. Individual(s) will assist with additional habitat restoration tasks when not conducting burns. Candidates are required to have S-130/190 and L-280 course completion, and ability to pass an Arduous Level Pack Test.
Ecological Operator Technician

Technicians are expected to be flexible and work on a variety of project types as needed. Work can vary seasonally, and may include extended periods of similar duties.
Operator Technicians are responsible for operating large machinery such as skid steers, skidders, feller bunchers, etc. as necessary for projects. When not operating machinery, operator techs will work alongside Ecological Technician crews to assist with field work. Candidates are required to have previous experience operating heavy equipment.
Wildland engine boss

Job Type: Full-time/Permanent or Full-time/Seasonal or Part-Time/On-Call/Seasonal
Salary: $21.00-$40.00 per hour DOE, prevailing wage when applicable
While representing NRP and acting with minimal supervision, individuals will be assigned to a Type 6 or Type 3 engine. Individuals will be primarily responsible for leading and supervising crews through national fire assignments, as well as assisting with prescribed fire operations throughout Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas.
