Seed Mix Instructions:

Each seed packet covers an approximately 3’x3’ sized space. Find an appropriate sized space that receives 6hrs or more of sunlight each day. Expose the soil by removing sod or turf, raking up leaves, pulling up weeds, etc. Sprinkle the seed packet evenly over the area. Use a soft rake to lightly rake the seed into the soil. Water the seed every few days for the first few weeks, then taper off, only watering when in high drought periods. Overwatering will damage the seed. The native seeds in this mix will take 2-3 years to establish their root systems and fully grow. You may not see much growth the first year. To help your seeds grow, cut to 6” any weeds/grass that grows into the area during the first couple of years. Make sure to cut the flower heads off weeds. Be patient with your seeding, and you’ll get a little plot of native flowers to enjoy!

The seed mix can also be seeded into existing prairie/pollinator garden. Simply cut back the area you want to seed, and scatter the seed over the existing vegetation.
